Dancing For The Kids

Picture this: cool laser lights, fog machines, space-themed decorations, a DJ, and food. On Nov. 9, Dance 4 A Chance hosted its annual charity event that raises awareness and funds for Shriners Hospital for Children. This year’s theme was “Space Glow” and consisted of four hours of volunteers dancing on behalf of kids who are not able to stand for themselves.

For the first time, the marathon took place in the gym, rather than its typical location of the black box theater. Multiple Shriner patients and their families that attended the event and were able to celebrate with the students as they revealed the grand total fundraised by students: $75,120.24.  The co-presidents of Dance 4 A Chance, Avery Mills, Sarah MacCormack, and Haley Harris gave their thanks to everyone who helped make the event possible. The head of Shriners Hospital and patients with their families gave thanks to everyone who donated and attended the event.

Overall, this was an impactful and heart touching event that helped change the lives of kids and give them a chance to be celebrated.
