With a new building and a new school year, Tampa Preparatory School is embracing fresh beginnings, including welcoming new faculty members across various departments.
One of those new faces is Coach Kelsey, who joins the athletic department as a trainer. With a passion for athletic training and educating students in the Emergency Medical Response class, Kelsey brings a wealth of experience to Tampa Prep.
Kelsey has worked with larger schools and high-level athletes, an experience she believes will benefit Tampa Prep’s student-athletes.
“Coming from working with teams with expansive rosters and higher demands for needs, I feel that working in a smaller school will allow me to provide any help I can with great quality, so everyone is getting the best out of what I can help them with,” Kelsey said.
In her first few months at Tampa Prep, Kelsey said she has felt welcomed by both students and staff.
“So far, I’ve had a great experience working here. Everyone is very welcoming and friendly, and I’ve built great connections with students that I’ve worked with,” she said.
Students have also responded positively to Kelsey’s arrival, especially the athletes that work with her during their sports season.
“Coach Kelsey is really good at doing everything I need for game days and recovery, as well as making the long processes more fun,” sophomore Myheir Session said.
Many other student-athletes echo Session’s sentiment. Kelsey has already made a positive impact on the athletic department, helping to create a strong foundation and welcoming environment for Tampa Prep’s student-athletes.
