This Thursday, at 12:50 pm, Spring Break officially starts. What will some terrapins do? Will some students visit family or friends? Traveling to somewhere they have never been? This spring break, like all the others, there will be terrapins visiting all new places or staying at home relaxing. Who knows, maybe our students will run into one another while they are away.
While some of us will be traveling with our families, Tampa Prep has some trips organized, as tradition, to some very interesting places. There is a Europe trip to France, Switzerland, and Bavaria, a trip to Peru, and a trip to Mexico. Terrapins get to travel with their friends and experience a trip without their parents, with sponsors and chaperones that are our very own teachers here at prep.
Talia Johnsingh (10) is going on the school’s Europe Trip and she expressed how excited she was, “… to be able to go on a trip with all of my school friends out of the country.”.
While the school organized trips are not for education purposes, Talia is looking forward to using and applying her French skills she has learned in class, while in France.
Some terrapins who are staying home in Florida are taking advantage of all the fun things we have here in our own backyard. There is Disney World, Beaches, Universal Studios, Seaworld, and many other family friendly places.
“My mom and I are taking the week to go stay in Orlando. We are going to go to Disney World and Universal,” said Lauren Ginns (10).
Many of our upcoming Juniors and upcoming seniors are beginning or continuing to think more about college and spring break is the perfect time to go tour some colleges you are interested in.
Hailey Sykes (10) and her family are taking a trip to “…visit Belmont and Vanderbilt for music.”.
Everyone at prep is doing something different. Whether our terrapins are taking a fun family vacation, visiting colleges, or taking a trip overseas, we are doing our own unique thing.
Antony Simonetti (10) is using his spring break to help others. “I am going to New York to help teens who are trying to battle drug addictions,” said Simonetti (10).
Spring break is an 11 day long vacation, which is more than enough time to see new things, learn new skills, or adopt new hobbies, maybe even try to make a change in communities like Simonetti. Take advantage of your break and make some great new memories.
