Tampa Prep’s Annual Black Box Unplugged Sparked the Night
A crowd full of students, parents, and teachers gathered in the Black Box Friday, Jan 11, to see some of prep’s finest musicians perform. What initially was a handful of performers grew to dozens of eager and excited students ready to put on a show.
From the events debut, Black Box Unplugged has been hosted by Terrapin alum Cedrica Jackson. This year however marked a new beginning for the event as sophmore, Zoie Mulkey, hosted the concert for the first time.
Carrying on the legacy of Jackson, Mulkey found a variety of musicians in the high school. The audience had the pleasure of being serenaded by covers of classics by Fleetwood Mac, Avril Lavigne, Daniel Caesar, and many more artists. The assortment of student performances and genres excited the audience who were eager to sing along.
A couple of students even performed original songs and brought in guitars and pianos to showcase their instrumental skills. After 3 hours, Black Box Unplugged closed out the thrilling night.
