Tampa Prep Volleyball is up and running, with their current record at 12-9. The season has started off great and has become lots of fun for both players and fans.
With that the team has had 9 graduated seniors in the previous year and is now rebuilding the program.
“The team needs to work on our connection and communication,” Victoria Padilla (12) said. The team is also working on experience with some of the new players as they come to learn new positions.
“We are focusing on having a good attitude and staying out of our heads,” Olivia Hart (12) said.
Despite this, the team has come a long way in a short amount of time. The team has faced a couple of tough battles thus far and has fought some good fights to come out on top. They have just recently defeated the Academy of Holy Names in a tight match, from being down 2 sets and coming back to winning 3 back-to-back sets to secure the game.
As the season progresses, the team is preparing for the district matches coming up in a few short weeks. Head coach Leanna Taylor sees every match as an opportunity for the team to improve.
“Every night is a match to look forward to,” Taylor said. “We are in an area with a lot of great volleyball teams, making every match a good one.”
