You Might Be “On The Run” to Buy Tickets To Post Malone’s Tour
Thursday, Oct. 24th, Post Malone performed at the Amalie Arena for an installment of his “On the Run” Tour. In this largely anticipated concert, the young artist proved his rock-star qualities in more ways than one.
The opening act for the artist was rapper, and friend, Swae Lee. Lee energized the crowd and interacted with the first rows by standing on the railing in front of the audience. If his goal was to excite the crowd, he surely achieved that.
When the time came for Post Malone’s grand entrance, he performed the title song of his new album, “Hollywood’s Bleeding.” During the concert, Malone performed a medley of songs from his new album, but also his old songs including the one that put his name on the radio. This song being “White Iverson.”
Malone not only showcased his prowess through his music, but also his visual representations of his songs. These visuals were displayed on large screens that were as animated as the audience.
At one point Malone invited his opening act, Swae Lee, to the stage to sing their collaboration “Sunflower” together. During the performance, both rappers gifted sunflowers to lucky audience members standing in the mosh pits.
One memorable moment was when the artist broke out an acoustic guitar and sang a heartfelt version of “I Fall Apart.”
As someone who knows that Malone can play a multitude of instruments, I was not surprised to find that he included this in his set.
Nevertheless, the artist made a standout performance while sporting pajama-like clothing with a print that looked like bats on it. Post Malone also debuted his new haircut which includes a curly fro that strays away from his days of long hair.
One cringe-worthy moment though, may have been when Malone struggled to smash a guitar. Fans watched him struggle to make an eventual dent on the wooden instrument.
As the show came to an end, Post Malone thanked his fans and as he does at every show, walked through the floor level to greet some.
Overall, the concert was a spectacular and interesting debut to the young artist’s tour.
